Manor House Wedding
I’ve documented lots of weddings at this beautiful manor house and every time I visit I seem to find a new spot that’s perfect for portraits. Situated in the Chiltern Hills near Hemel Hempstead, Ashridge House is a spectacular country estate and stately home in Hertfordshire.
On the morning of the wedding, Belinda got ready in the bridal suite with her friends and family. Her Pronovias dress looked absolutely beautiful with a low back and sparkly embellishments on the shoulders. A colourful bouquet made by The Flower Mill finished off the look perfectly. Emotions ran high when Belinda read a card from John and opened her gift from her husband to be, a stylish gold Rolex watch. Her brother’s were speechless when they arrived to see their sister ready to walk down the aisle.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the stairs in the main hall – the perfect location to elope! After the service, guests made their way to the terrace to enjoy some Champagne in the sunshine. The surrounding landscape boasts many amazing photo opportunities and the back of the house provided a fantastic backdrop for the group portraits. Before the guests sat down to enjoy their wedding breakfast, Belinda had arranged a little surprise for her brothers. Their late father’s truck was waiting outside on the driveway. It was an emotional moment for the whole family but what a lovely way to remember their dad on her wedding day.
The guests made their way to the Lady Marion Alford room to enjoy a delicious meal along with some very funny speeches. As the sun started to set, we went outside to get some more portraits while the light was beautiful and soft. I always try to go out for photos at this point on a wedding day if possible as it breaks up the portrait time so you don’t feel like you’re away from your guests for too long.
The first dance completed the formal celebrations and the dancing went on late into the night. Belinda and Josh were a delight to photograph and they couldn’t have picked a better place to have their big day!
