Cassiobury Park Maternity Session
6th June 2016
Vikki is a friend of mine that I used to work with and I was delighted when she asked me for a maternity shoot. It was a hot day in June and Vikki looked beautiful at 8 months pregnant. I find that between 7 and 8 months works best for a maternity session as the bump is a lot more visible. We decided to go to Cassiobury Park in Watford as she tends to go there a lot with the family.
We started by getting some pictures of Vikki’s little girl, Nikhita, with a chalkboard sign that had Vikki’s due date written on it. We then got some fun pictures running in the grass, playing hide and seek and catching bubbles. A bubble machine never fails to get great expressions from kids! One of the things I love most about photographing kids outside is that they have a lot more freedom to run around and, consequently, enjoy the session a lot more.
I always try to get pictures with each parent to show the individual relationships with their children. The picture of Nikhita laughing with her dad has to be one of my favourites from this shoot. Vikki and her family were a delight to photograph and I can’t wait to meet the new arrival! If you’re looking for a Cassiobury Park family photographer, I’d love to hear from you.
