Emma & Ian – 27th May 2018
16TH CENTURY BARN WEDDING
Emma and Ian got married on a beautiful sunny day in May at Micklefield Hall, a picturesque country house in Sarratt, Hertfordshire. Emma got ready with her mum and bridesmaids in the bridal suite and everyone was excited for the ceremony to begin. There were lots of happy tears and emotions ran high when Emma revealed her stunning Stephanie Allin dress to her friends and family.
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony took place outside in the barn’s perfectly manicured gardens – a truly amazing place for a wedding. Emma had done an incredible job with all of the little details. The tables were decorated with colourful pastel floral arrangements every guest had little bottles of Ian’s signature pink cocktail tied with Alice in Wonderland style “drink me” labels. The sun continued to shine on this unseasonably warm May day as guests enjoyed Prosecco and played mini golf in the gardens.
A delicious wedding breakfast followed along with some very funny and heartfelt speeches. We decided to do the couple portraits later on in the day when it was a little cooler and the light was a lot softer. Micklefield Hall is one of my favourite venues and boasts lots of amazing spots for photos so I always get excited when I have the opportunity to photography a wedding here.
Day turned to night and the couple made their way to the dance floor to cut their fabulous cake. it was made by At Your Wish Cakes and was piled up with lots of delicious strawberries – the perfect addition to a sunny Spring wedding. Emma and Ian, thank you so much for letting me capture you special day. I loved every minute of it!
“These are beyond beautiful – thank you so so much. It has been so lovely to relive the day all over again as it was such a blur on the day and went so fast and so having these photos are so precious. I can’t stop looking at them! I feel like there is a photo of every single guest there which is just amazing! I am also so so glad we got all the evening shots – I love the light of the ones near the end when we were on the grass, it’s gorgeous.”
