I’ve been a wedding photographer at Ashridge House on lots of occasions but I always find new places to photograph and ways of using the amazing neo-gothic interior in wedding photos. Hayley and Sean both got ready at the venue before their church ceremony at St Peter and Paul in Little Gaddesden.
Hayley is from New Zealand and Sean is English but they met whilst they were both travelling around Asia. They were such a lovely couple to work with and, despite hating having their photo taken, had lots of fun whilst we took portraits throughout the day.
CHURCH WEDDING CEREMONY
Hayley look absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle in her beautiful Mori Lee dress. The ceremony was relaxed and romantic with a couple of funny readings from friends and family. The bride and groom exited to lots of cheers and confetti before guests travelled back form the church in a London bus.
Hayley and Sean made a grand entrance on the stunning staircase at Ashridge House before cutting their wedding cake adorned with chocolate covered strawberries. Guests enjoyed Champagne and canapes on the terrace looking over the beautiful Italian gardens before making there way to the Lady Marion Alford room for the wedding breakfast.
WEDDING RECEPTION AT LUXURY MANOR HOUSE
Hayley’s dad gave an emotional speech and Sean followed with some heartfelt words to his new wife. Sean’s two best men gave hilarious speeches complete with a game of Mr and Mrs! At the end of the night I took the bridal party to the arches at the top of the staircase to get some final pictures before I left. I really loved the idea of using flash to light up the space behind the arches to emphasise the shapes and keep all the people silhouetted against the backdrop. I was really happy with the result so we got a few couple pictures before I left too.
Hayley and Sean, it was so lovely to be a part of your big day. I hope the honeymoon was everything you dreamed of!
