Amy & Machile – 1st October 2021
Amy and Machile eloped on a sunny Autumn day at The Old Beams in Shenley Lodge. This Milton Keynes pub was recently rebuilt after a fire in 2007 and now serves as an event space for weddings and functions. Remnants of the old pub are still visible and the new oak frame barn makes the space feel bright and contemporary.
Bridal Preparations in Milton Keynes
Amy got ready at her parents house surrounded by friends and family just a short walk from the wedding venue. Her nan was in charge of looking after her twin girls who looked especially cute in their white flower girl dresses. The bridesmaids wore long burgundy dresses which matched the roses in the bridal bouquet perfectly. Amy travelled to The Old Beams in an old vintage wedding car with her dad. There were a few happy tears as they made their way to the ceremony.
Getting Married at The Old Beams
The couple got married in a marquee which had been set up in the pub gardens. The official wedding was due to take place at Milton Keynes Registry Office the next day, so a celebrant conducted the ceremony. Machile stood at the front with his daughters and shed a few tears when he saw his gorgeous bride walking down the aisle. The ceremony was very emotional with heartfelt words from the happy couple.
Wedding Reception at Shenley Lodge Pub
The reception took place in The Old Beams where the tables were adorned with tulle table runners and gold centrepieces decorated with red and pick flowers. Guests enjoyed a delicious three course wedding breakfast followed by speeches from the groom, best and and father of the bride. At sunset, I took the couple outside for some portraits…the light was perfect! Guests made their way into the marquee to watch as the couple played mr & mrs and having their first dance as husband and wife. I loved documenting this fun filled pub wedding in Shenley Lodge. If you’re looking for a Milton Keynes wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you.
