Trafalgar Square Engagement Session – Megan and Chris
28th December 2016
Megan and Chris are getting married in March and they decided a Trafalgar Square engagement session was the perfect way to get used to the camera. The met at a university in Norway and they wanted to reflect this in their session. The Christmas tree in the middle of Trafalgar Square is a gift to the British people by the Norwegians each year so it provided the perfect symbolic location. It’s worth bearing in mind that you do require a permit to photograph in most areas of central London – especially the Royal Parks. You can find more information about getting a permit here.
ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN TRAFALGAR SQUARE
The shoot took place on a cold day in December just before sunset. We got some beautiful pictures by the fountain and some with Big Ben in the background…the light was just perfect. I love shooting in winter because the sun is a bit softer and lower in the sky and the fairy lights on the Christmas tree created a beautiful, sparkly backdrop. Megan liked the idea of getting some nighttime portraits while the Christmas lights were still up so we went to St James’s Park to capture the twinkly lights.
Megan and Chris were so comfortable in front of the camera and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in March. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer you can get in touch via my contact page.
