Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey – 9th August 2019
BRIDAL PREPARATIONS AT WOBURN
Woburn Sculpture gallery is one of my favourite places to photograph. Preparations began at Lydia’s parents’ home with her bridesmaids and close family. It’s situated just a short walk from St Mary’s Church where the ceremony was held. The church is a place that’s very close to their hearts and have celebrated lots of family occasions there like weddings and Christenings. Despite the wet weather forecast it was a beautiful, sunny August day. Lydia wore an amazing Phil Collins gown with diamante detailing on the back and the blush bridesmaids’ dresses looked beautiful with the pastel pink and yellow rose bouquets. As Lydia appeared with her dad at the door of the church, Quoc’s reaction to seeing his wife to be was one of the best I’ve seen from a groom! It was a very emotional moment with lots of happy tears.
GETTING MARRIED AT WOBURN SCULPTURE GALLERY
After the ceremony guests made their way to the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey, a spectacular orangery surrounded by a deer park and overlooking the Camellia lake. Quoc and Lydia feel in love with the venue as soon as they saw it and knew that it was the perfect venue for their wedding reception. The couple had done an exceptional job decorating the venue. Quoc is a graphic designer so he took charge of this aspect of the wedding planning, making beautiful stationary with rose gold accents that adorned the tables. The classic design complimented the simple white balloons and eucalyptus arrangements perfectly.
Lydia and Quoc were keen to get lots of couple portraits that utilise as much of the venue as possible. At the Sculpture Gallery we were spoilt for choice! One of my favourite spots is the greenhouse filled with lots of different plants and trees. There’s also a beautiful courtyard with traditional lampposts. I wanted to capture this scene in a totally different way, so we waited until it got dark and I used some dramatic lighting to get some unique, cinematic style portraits.
It’s always exciting to discover new venues and this one really had the wow factor! Thank you both for letting me document your big day, I loved every minute of it. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer to document your day, just get in touch!
